Border Cleaning Services Limited is the latest cleaning company either owned or managed by Karl Taylor. In 1979, a mere 'slip of a lad' at 21 years old, Karl was at Stafford College of Further Education studying various business studies courses when he was told that he had to take another course along with them. It was literally a case of going down the list with a pin! At that time cleaning certainly wasn't considered the profession that it is today but as manufacturing processes became more advanced, so did the methods of cleaning up after them. Stafford College of Further Education was 'leading the field' in offering new City and Guilds courses in Cleaning Management. So, Karl took a two year course and went out into the big wide world as Site Manager at Devonport, Plymouth - Britains largest Naval Base.

After two years under the scrutiny of various Admirals and their white gloves during weekly inspections, Karl changed companies and went to manage the cleaning contract at the Rover car plant in Birmingham - and then on to Ford Motor Company in Dagenham. It was at Ford, with a staff of over 600 that Karl gained vast experience in Human Resources.

In 1992 Karl was offered a Directorship at a medium sized office cleaning company operating throughout the Greater London Area. As the only one on the Board who came from a cleaning background he was constantly at loggerheads with the remainder of the team who believed that the 'right way' to grow their business was to win contracts at any cost and  to hope that they won more than they lost!

This was totally at odds with Karls philosophy that they should offer an outstanding service to their customers and 'grow' through recommendation.

Karls first company was incorporated in 1996 and it is this philosophy that has prevailed ever since. In the past 11 years Karl has built and sold four cleaning companies, providing services for (amongst others) Barclays Bank, TGI Friday, Planet Holywood, Pizza Hut, Brewers Fayre, Wolverhampton City Council and many, many others.

Border Cleaning Services Limited is Karls last venture before retirement and he will continue to deliver the same outstanding service for which he has become renowned in the past.
